German dental associations on dental problems caused by MNS

CORRECTIV asked the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV) and the Federal Dental Association (BZÄK). In consultation with the Institute of German Dentists (IDZ), a spokesman assured KZBV that MNS does not (!) lead to dental problems. The statement says: “Wearing MNS has been part of the practice for centuries […| to the standard hygiene measures in the medical and dental sectors and has since been practiced by surgeons and dentists for up to 10 hours a day.” In fact, it is rare to see a dentist or dentist practicing without MNS. And if they do, their teeth are usually quite attractive.

The BZÄK also stated that there is no scientific evidence “that indicates the occurrence of gum inflammation or other dental and oral diseases caused by MNS.” The experts also emphasize that regular washing and changing of MNS is important, but it still exists no direct danger to the oral cavity.

Therefore, no other claims can be made that suggest illnesses are caused by the connection between MNS and oral health.
