“Where did my comment go now?” – a question that Facebook users ask themselves again and again.

That can be annoying. You comment on a post and suddenly your comment doesn't appear at all? And even if you just want to read along, it can happen that the number of content displayed is significantly less than the total number stated under the posting.

What has happened there? Don’t worry, Facebook hasn’t “censored” you or anyone else. There is an answer to the disappearance and it is: “Ranking for comments”.

Ranking for comments – what is it?

There are two methods that can be used to influence the displayed entries. On the one hand, site operators can use the “Ranking for comments” function to influence the user texts displayed and their order. If the site admin deactivates the ranking/ranking, they will again be displayed in chronological order by default.

In addition, users also have the option of changing the order of display under each post on a Facebook page. However, you can only see this change yourself and it has no influence on how the comments appear for others. Other users see the content the way they chose the setting themselves.

Tip: If you don't seem to see any more comments, even though you see that so many entries have been made, you have to click on the small arrow next to "Most relevant" .

Here you now have various options. Now change the selection to “ All comments ” and all texts will be displayed chronologically again. Of course, you can not only change the function for a post, but also deactivate it.

Here's how to disable ranking for comments:

As already described, there are two ways to influence the content displayed. We show how you can use these functions:

For profiles
To deactivate the ranking for your profile, click on the small arrow pointing down in the top .

Then select “Settings” and “ Public Posts ” on the left. If you now on “ Edit Ranking for comments , you can choose between “ On ” and “ Off ”.

For pages
You can only do this if you are an admin of the page. So as an admin, click on “ Page Settings ” and then under “ General ” on “ Ranking for Comments ”. Disable ranking by unchecking the box next to “ Show most relevant comments by default .”

Then all you have to do is save the changes .

Important information for site operators: spam

Sometimes it happens that comments are hidden by the automatic filter because they have been identified as spam. Either Facebook perceives these texts as spam or certain terms collide with the word filter on a page (if activated).

Site operators are often accused of deleting content for no reason. But that's not the case and the content marked as spam can be shown again manually because it was just hidden automatically.

The site operator can make content classified as spam public again at any time by moving the mouse over the comment and clicking on “ Show again ”.
