There is a product warning on Facebook about carcinogenic substances in children's toys.
“Cancer through touch” This toy is life-threatening for children!
Is that correct?
Yes ! The European rapid warning system RAPEX warns of carcinogenic PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in “Kids Fun” toy cars.
A high concentration of PAHs above the limit was found in the tires of the product.
Since 2015, consumer products in the EU have only been allowed to contain 1mg/kg of one of the eight carcinogenic PAHs. For baby items and toys, this limit is 0.5 mg/kg. The measured values ranged from 9 – 179 mg/kg. Some PAHs are clearly carcinogenic in humans (including lung, larynx, skin cancer, as well as stomach, colon and bladder cancer).
There is also a risk of damage to the fetus or impairment of reproductive ability.

It is strongly recommended that parents immediately remove any existing vehicles from the children's room and return them to the dealer or dispose of them with reference to the Rapex warning.
