On February 12, 2023, a user posted a video on Facebook in which mysterious lights can be seen in the dark night sky. He comments on the video with the text: “That was in the sky shortly before the earthquake in Turkey.”

Users explain these phenomena with various theories such as electrical activity of the sun or HAARP technology. – But none of this is true.

In this case the lights are from a rocket launch. More precisely: the Falcon 9 rocket, which launched on October 7, 2018 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in the USA.
The excerpt that has now been shared can be seen from around min. 2:22. – However, the video excerpts are rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise. To check, hold your head to the side for a moment.
The spectacular spectacle is pointed out below the video: “Residents across the state were able to observe the unusual light display, as parts of the rocket flight were illuminated by the last remnants of light from the sun that had already set.”
