It sounds great: Lidl is supposedly distributing e-scooters as part of a competition. But in the end there is a problem...

And yet another promise that I will turn out to be a fool in the end. No, Lidl does not distribute e-scooters. Even if a posting on Facebook claims exactly the opposite.

It's a posting with a photo. In this photo we see an e-scooter. In addition to the e-scooter, we also see the logo of the discounter Lidl. At the same time, a hand holds a piece of paper in the picture. This note says “Thank you for the gift!” For this posting we read the following text:

Only today!
The Lidl retail chain is launching a competition. We are distributing 20 e-scooters. Anyone can win in competition. Please answer a few questions to improve the quality of work in our branches.

No connection to Lidl

I would be really careful about that promise. In the end we are dealing with a three-stage fake posting. The first stage is this posting itself, it is the bait. This bait leads to an intermediate side. This intermediate page prepares you to register on another website. This last page is the target, because there we find an event from a data dealer. And here we read clearly that Lidl has absolutely nothing to do with this event:

The brand owners or manufacturers shown are neither the organizer nor sponsor of the competition and have no business relationship with ]***]. The organizer of this competition is [***].

Well, thank you very much too. In this posting on Facebook, the logo and the term Lidl are being misused. If you are looking for offers from the discounter, you should take a look at Lidl's verified Facebook page ( here ).

Our tip: If a competition is advertised with false promises and false statements, it's better to stay away from it!
