Under the logo of the chocolate manufacturer Lindt, Facebook users are led to believe that there is a competition that does not exist, because the associated Facebook page is a fake!

Scammers pretend to be “Lindt”!

And again a fake competition on Facebook lures thousands of Facebook users into a competition trap. Fraudsters pose as “Lindt”. It is currently this status post on Facebook:

To take part in this competition, all you have to do is comment with the word “Congratulations”, which thousands of Facebook users also do, as you can see from this screenshot. As soon as you have done this, you will immediately receive an answer from “Lindt-Germany” and will be advised that you should click on the “Register” button on the Facebook page so that you get the promised price.

The imprint shows that this is not “LINDT”, but a marketing company from Great Britain

NOTE: The “Lindt” fake page mentioned is actually a page that we already know from other dubious competitions. This site, which is currently “Lindt.Deutschland ”, was called “ Range Rover Sport.2022 ” from July 5th, 2022 to February 27th, 2023 and was already organizing dubious competitions at that time. This can be recognized by the “page transparency”, which is provided by Facebook and can also be viewed by every user!

What does this bring to the creator or the organizer?

The creator of this fake competition is trying to use these scams to lure Facebook users to external websites where they have to fill out a competition form. With this scam, the organizer collects user data. This data is then stored in databases, which are then sold to companies. The other player then receives spam emails or spam calls from various companies in the following weeks.

Conclusion: No gifts from “Lindt” are distributed here. You should ignore such competitions. It's best to also inform friends who have shared or commented on the posts. Of course, to warn other users, you can also comment directly on these pages that it is fake.

Does Lindt actually run competitions? Lindt itself writes on its website: “Yes, we organize competitions via our various communication channels. However, please only trust competitions that are organized via official channels” For example, on the Facebook page for Germany or Austria
