Facebook users repeatedly share various missing person reports or wanted calls. Unfortunately, they don't consider that you should also include a link to the original post (regardless of whether it's the police or the media). In this case, some users just copied the “image” that was published in the media and then uploaded it to Facebook. As always in such cases, we receive a number of inquiries about whether it is fake or not.

Our research showed that it is not a fake.

It's about this image:

Various media reports about it. Among other things, the “APA” (Austria Press Agency) also reported on this incident.

French woman killed in Tyrol: search for suspect

In the case of the 20-year-old student Lucile K. from France, who was killed in Kufstein in Tyrol, there is apparently the first hot lead. As the Tyrol State Criminal Police Office announced on Thursday, they were looking for a man who was “strongly suspected”. The police were also able to create a ghost image of the suspect based on a personal description.

The municipality of Kufstein and the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences are also offering a reward of 10,000 euros for information that leads to the investigation of the crime. There is a “local and temporal connection,” said LKA head Walter Pupp of the APA. The investigators tracked down the man based on witness statements. The State Criminal Police Office continued to assume a “robbery with homicide”. There is nothing that would contradict that, said Pupp. The murder weapon, the 20-year-old's handbag and her cell phone have not yet been found, explained the LKA boss. The chief investigator did not want to provide any further information.

The suspect was described as 35 to 40 years old and between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall. He was wearing a green parka jacket, black pants, a yellow T-shirt and a black cap. He wore glasses and a noticeable mustache. The Tyrol State Criminal Police Office is accepting tips on 059/133703333. If requested, these will be treated confidentially.

Most recently, Cobra divers descended the Inn in the area where the body was found. Police officers searched around the crime scene and in the city area for the murder weapon or for the French woman's bag and cell phone.

The crime scene work, including the forensics, had already been completed on Monday and the first interviews with fellow students and neighbors were carried out. According to the State Criminal Police Office, investigations have shown that the crime scene “highly likely” corresponds to the place where it was found or is in the immediate vicinity. The woman's body was found on the banks of the Inn in the city of Kufstein. According to investigators, the attack could also have taken place on the promenade above.

The body of the French woman, who came from the Lyon area and had been studying in Kufstein for four months as part of an exchange program, was discovered by police officers on Sunday.
Friends and fellow students had previously reported the young woman missing. According to the autopsy, the cause of death was severe blows to the head. According to investigators, the murder weapon was a hard object. Reference: http://www.apa.at/News/6516486732/getoetete-franzoesin-fahndung-nach-tatverdaechtümmel.html
