Augsburg-Pfersee: On January 24th, 2017 around 3:15 p.m., a 73-year-old Augsburg man got off a tram on line 3 on Mayor-Bohl-Straße and headed for two girls.

He then, apparently for no reason, ran towards two girls aged around ten to twelve who were waiting at the stop with his arms outstretched and pushed them aside.

One of the two girls started crying, which is why it is assumed that she may have been injured.

A 21-year-old who observed the incident showed moral courage and spoke to the man about his behavior. The 73-year-old's aggression was no longer directed against the children, but rather against the young man from Augsburg, who then fled on foot.

A police patrol, alerted by the young man, was able to catch the aggressor a short time later in the toilet of a kebab shop on Stadtberger Strasse.

He had several knives with him, including a banned butterfly knife.

The knives were taken away from the man and he was admitted under the Accommodation Act due to his psychologically abnormal behavior.

Nothing is known about the two girls yet. They got on the number 3 tram on Mayor-Bohl-Strasse and drove away.

People who observed the incident or can provide information about the two girls who were injured are asked to contact PI Augsburg 6 on 0821/323-2610.
