Ulm - At around 8:45 a.m., July 12, 2017, residents and passers-by reported via emergency call that a man wearing only his underpants was screaming around at the Holzmarkt.
He had a bottle of gasoline with him, poured it on himself and threatened to set himself on fire. The police were able to take the lighter out of the man's hand at a convenient opportunity and overpower him. The fire brigade, emergency doctor and rescue service were also on duty. A doctor admitted the 51-year-old to a psychiatric facility. The police are now investigating the background to the incident.
According to current knowledge, the man living in Switzerland became angry because of a civil matter and traveled to Biberach that morning. Because he had also threatened other people, criminal investigations are now underway against him.
