The Facebook page “MediaMarkt – Lugner City” is not an official company page.

A fake competition on the website “MediaMarkt – Lugner City” tempts you to win Segways. Facebook page creators repeatedly use third-party identities to organize alleged competitions.

They give the impression that they are official Facebook pages of well-known companies, that they are celebrating a new opening or that the goods were incorrectly packaged.

The site claims to be MediaMarkt and has only existed since November 11, 2020. There is neither an imprint nor any other information about the organizer other than an alleged address.

To participate, you must share the corresponding Facebook post and comment with the term “Segway”. Participants will then receive a private message in which they should follow a link. This leads to the supposed competition.

However, anyone who takes part should definitely read the small print, because every “new customer”, i.e. participant, automatically takes out a subscription, which ends expensively after four days.
