“System Warning: Your Windows system is corrupted (date)”

This is how the content begins, appearing in a pop-up window that appears out of nowhere. Apparently the current “Windows Security version” is corrupted and therefore all system files would now be deleted. However, you still have 186 seconds to update your software.

Such warnings are misleading and, above all, false information that claims to be from Microsoft Help and Support! But that's not true.

Behind such dubious security warnings there is usually “adware” or a “browser hijacker” that has been installed on the affected computer. Most of the time some “freeware” programs or toolbars are responsible for this!

Please never click on a confirmation link or button when receiving such warnings!

It is usually not very easy to find the adware responsible so that you can remove it manually. For this reason, we recommend that you use Malwarebytes
