A video of a young woman goes viral - and is placed in a context she did not intend.

It looks like she's being interviewed. You can hear questions about whether she has ever been with a foreigner. At the same time you can hear how she provides a very interesting explanation to the questions asked.

She emphasizes that her father is Italian and her mother is Russian, but that she herself is purely German. The video is shared quite often on Facebook due to the sometimes quite absurd answers.

What many people don't notice at first glance, however, is that the whole video is basically a kind of fake; the person you see, although lip-synching perfectly, is NOT the person you hear.

Because the soundtrack is not hers! The soundtrack comes from the TV Total Integration Check from the broadcast on October 18, 2010.

Where does the synchronized version come from?

It is quite important to know the origin of the new version, because then you can better understand why this absolutely synchronous version even exists.

The video comes from the social media network Tiktok (formerly Musical.ly). This portal is about recreating and posting music videos or other short video clips in absolute lip-sync using the corresponding playback. This portal is particularly popular with young people.

In most videos you can see the users singing playback, in this case the integration check is being spoken in playback.

Misunderstood irony

According to her own statements, the uploader published it as an “irony” and wanted to point out the contradictory statements in the original, which she linked to.

The video is already being heavily criticized in the comments on the TikTok platform and the corresponding author (as an uploader is called on Tiktok) has to take a stand against the allegations.

Initially this takes the form of responding to comments and refuting individual allegations.

In a follow-up video, the uploader then clearly explained where the soundtrack came from and why she chose it. From this description we learn that she is not xenophobic and that her origins and religion do not play a role for her.

We have now contacted the uploader, who also confirmed to us that with this synchro she actually wanted to once again emphasize the absurdity of the original statements. She had no idea that she would be misunderstood. Nor does anyone really assume that they are being asked these questions by an imaginary interlocutor.

Dynamic development on Facebook

This video has now found its way to Facebook through a new upload (uploader unknown) and is appearing in various groups. Of course, this entire discussion from before, as well as their statement on the original video, cannot be seen on Facebook, and there is also no indication on Facebook that it is a lip-synchronized playback from TV-Total.

In this new environment, the video now appears completely misleading and it is no longer possible to understand why it was created.
