Wait, they really believe that?

We were amazed when several readers drew our attention to a photo that was taken and published the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism This photo shows several men who were among the more than 2,000 demonstrators in Chemnitz carrying a banner in front of them.

We won't go into the demonstration here; you can find out more about it elsewhere ( ZEIT , ARD , Spiegel ). What is of interest to us is what can be seen on this banner and what the argument “We are COLORFUL until the blood spurts (sic)” really represents, because we have known since 2017.

Briefly about the suggestion of the statement: The slogan “We are COLORFUL until the blood spurts (sic)” is intended to suggest that the people depicted were at the mercy of migrant violence. In its original form, this collage even depicted 16 people. There would probably have been no room for the missing 4 (top row), so the layout of the banner would no longer have fit.

What is interesting is that this collage has now gained its own momentum and has become a kind of symbolic image for migrant violence in Germany, even though the images have nothing to do with it. In addition, it must be mentioned that the proposal originally claimed that all of them were German women who fell victim to migrant violence.

At this point you can sadly see very clearly how much disinformation and fakes can stir up hatred and ultimately even become iconized!

Here is our result:

Who is depicted in this collage and what really happened to these people?

For the sake of completeness

As already mentioned, the original artwork for this image depicts 4 additional people. Of course, we don't want to ignore this in the existing context. The original template:

Figure 16: Name unknown, is used again and again as a symbolic image

16

  • Person's name: Unknown
  • Incident: Unknown
  • from the year: at least 2010
  • comes from: Unknown
  • Source: The photo first appeared in a bodybuilder forum 2010 and 2011 . We couldn't find out exactly what happened. The fact is that this photo repeatedly made the rounds online, especially in 2016 and 2017, and was used as a symbolic image for various acts. But always in different contexts. The photo appears again and again on Polish and Russian websites as well as on a website from Latvia . It was reported here in 2015 that a pregnant woman was beaten by a man. But that can't be true, because we found the photo in 2010. A very obscure story whose true origin can no longer be understood.
