Nuremberg – A pickpocketing from July of this year (2017) was solved by officers from the Nuremberg criminal police. The alleged perpetrator also faces an investigation into attempted blackmail.

A then-unknown perpetrator stole both the wallet and the cell phone from a discotheque guest in Nuremberg's Südstadt.
The injured party was initially able to identify the suspected thief via social networks and even contacted him. He only wanted to return the “lost property” against payment of an appropriate finder’s fee. The police were notified. The investigation quickly led to a 23-year-old man from Nuremberg.
The young man has not yet commented on the matter, but is considered a strong suspect based on the investigations carried out so far. The Nuremberg Criminal Investigation Department is investigating theft and attempted extortion.
The stolen items have now been recovered and returned to the owner. Source: Middle Franconia Police Headquarters
