BAD NEUSTADT, LKR. RHÖN-GRABFELD – On Friday morning, an unknown person robbed a bank and fled with the stolen cash.

The man entered the bank branch on Rhönstrasse around 9:50 a.m. and demanded cash while pointing a pistol. The man then fled the crime scene on foot towards Fliederweg. No one was injured during the robbery.

The Bad Neustadt police are currently searching for the robber with several patrols and the support of numerous forces from surrounding departments.

The following description is available of the fugitive perpetrator:

  • approx. 180-185 cm tall
  • slim figure
  • probably young man
  • was wearing a hoodie, a black scarf wrapped around his face, tight black pants and black fleece gloves with a white spot on his right hand
  • the man spoke with a Franconian dialect

Witnesses who can provide relevant information are urgently asked to contact the police on the emergency number 110.

Road users are also asked not to pick up hitchhikers in the Rhön-Grabfeld area.
