Danger! If you receive this message, you should be very careful and do not follow its contents under any circumstances. What's happening here? Fake Facebook security writes to users via private messages and asks them to verify themselves.

Suddenly the chat window or Facebook Messenger opens and you get a message from Facebook Security! Oh my God, what does Facebook Security want?

Quite simply, Facebook Security claims that you should verify your own account because you have allegedly violated certain guidelines. Especially in light of the fact that Facebook wants to increasingly check and sort out fake profiles, such a message poses an even greater danger.

Kaspersky Internet Security reports at this point because the process and the address were recognized as a phishing web address.

This link actually hides a fake login that pretends to be a Facebook login. According to this page, you should log in here within 24 hours so that your own account on Facebook is not closed. This claim is of course a false claim to put pressure on the visitor.

image

There is also a rat tail behind this supposed login. First, the “secret question” is asked, which may seem plausible, but this is followed by a request for credit card details. This is where you notice discrepancies, but it is usually too late because the access data has already been lost.

What happens then? You often lose your Facebook account to fraudsters, who in turn change the name of the account. The new name is then: Facebook Security. And with this account the same cheating method is started all over again in the new circle of friends.

Gladly used: Facebook Security

The account name “Facebook Security” is very popular because there is actually an official Facebook page with this name. In principle, however, one can say: this site does NOT write private messages to users.

image

The recreated accounts often have special characters in the name so that they are not found and banned via the search. For example, the name “Fâcebøøĸ Séƈurîƚy”. So anyone who finds strange symbols can be quite sure that it is a message from fraudsters.

Further: Spy on Facebook? A fake!

It is also often claimed that these accounts with the addition “Facebook Security” are Facebook spies. This is of course nonsense, we describe the background here .
