The private messages of supposedly young women or men on Facebook all too often lead into a trap!

Anyone who regularly checks the so-called message requests on Facebook may have recently found more requests from attractive, hung men or women there (here's information on how to requests ).

What you can say directly: These profiles are fake profiles. Sometimes you can also tell from the URL (address) that these are renamed profiles. These fakes usually send a link.

The link from the message requests usually leads to dating sites, so after clicking on the link, a message from Facebook appears telling you to leave the Facebook website. Then dubious offers appear.

Overall, this scam is quite cheap and closely related to the “ sexy friend request ” method. The result is the same for both: Facebook users are lured to dating portals where they are ripped off.

Message requests: Beware of the subscription trap!

Even if the link from the message requests promises something different, there are fewer great acquaintances on these dating sites and more cost traps that you fall into if you fill out a registration there. Even the constant information that something is free only refers to registration, everything else is not free!

There are a lot of fake profiles there (often created by employees, which is often hidden in the terms and conditions) that encourage you to quickly get a paid account so that you can see who has just written to you.

Even if you have decided not to continue using the portal, the email address from the registration there is now known and that is what is used:

So the data is happily passed around. Users who register there are first presented with a huge catalog of questions about sexual preferences and other data, and users who have completed this question odyssey and voluntarily pay money can be fleeced even more!

That's why you can at least be happy about a lot of spam email! You can block these gradually, but there is another trap lurking: the “trial subscription”.

Unknown private messages can be expensive!
Many of these sites offer “trial subscriptions” that only cost 1 euro. But this can quickly become very expensive!

For example, the website of the law firm Dr. Hoffmann said that users of the sites who never took out a premium subscription or who canceled the subscription process beforehand also received reminder letters from the debt collection company Fairmount GmbH. Such letters must be taken seriously and should not be ignored, which is why it is often necessary to see a lawyer. Schuster law firm also specializes in cover letters with such payment requests.

It is therefore best to reject both the message requests and (if any) the friend requests from these profiles.
