NASA is said to have admitted that it is spraying lithium to "dose" the American population - or so it is claimed.

There are around 40 space organizations worldwide, but the US space agency, NASA, is repeatedly dragged in when it comes to substantiating crude conspiracy myths - and in this case with a fair amount of lack of understanding of scientific processes and physical laws.
Because if it were true, NASA would probably be spraying the most ineffective chemtrails ever!

Here is one of the suggestions for an article that keeps making the rounds in relevant circles:

NASA's chemtrails
NASA's chemtrails

The article in English a few years ago , reports that NASA is spraying lithium into the atmosphere for experiments, which is actually true and is openly communicated - but a completely different reason is suspected.

NASA and lithium

It's no big secret, as NASA itself reports ( see HERE ) that since the 1950s they have been injecting tri-methyl aluminum, lithium and barium into the upper atmosphere to visualize naturally occurring flows of ionized and neutral particles .

The lithium mentioned is used at an altitude of 200 kilometers; It has the special feature of being visible for measurements even during the day using cameras with infrared filters.

The substances are therefore used in the ionosphere, which begins at an altitude of 80 kilometers. For comparison: Airplanes fly up to an altitude of around 11 kilometers.

The claim

However, the lithium released is said to have a completely different purpose than that stated by NASA: Lithium is also a pharmaceutical drug that is most often used to treat people with manic depression or bipolar disorder.

And that is also correct ( see HERE ): Lithium (specifically lithium carbonate , the lithium salt of carbonic acid) is used as a medication for bipolar disorder and can also be helpful for depression. However, taking lithium alongside other medications for depression can lead to quite undesirable side effects.

The conclusion of those articles: Lithium is exposed to the ionosphere “ to calm agitated minds ,” so one should be sedated.

The facts

Keith Koehler , a spokesman for NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, tells FactCheck that these tests help understand activity in the ionosphere through which satellite signals travel and understand solar winds.

Of about 25 sounding rockets launched each year, only about one or two rockets emit substances that are used for that research. In contrast, lithium is found in much higher doses in fireworks ( see HERE ): It produces red bangs.

However, pure physics and meteorology make it absolutely nonsensical to release a very small amount of a substance into the ionosphere in order to have an effect on people:

  • That lithium is distributed by the winds not just over the USA, but over the entire globe
  • The material is bombarded in the ionosphere with high-energy particles in the solar spectrum, which make it glow but also destroy it
  • Even if some particles of the material make it to the surface of the earth, they are extremely diluted due to the distribution, so that they are more like homeopathic doses

So if the purpose of lithium is to keep people quiet, then it is very ineffective, as the US statistics of the last few decades show: the crime rate per 100,000 inhabitants is increasing ( see HERE , page 4 of the PDF), as are expenses for mental health services ( see HERE ).

Conclusion

Lithium released into the ionosphere to immobilize people? Quite apart from the fact that it is not pure lithium that is used in antidepressants, but rather lithium carbonate, it would be very ineffective to distribute a small amount of it so high up that it becomes extremely diluted and, if at all, ends up somewhere on earth - And to then call these “vaccinations” is absolutely outrageous.
