On Tuesday afternoon (January 3rd), a trickster rang the doorbell (Paulsenstrasse) of an 82-year-old woman from Oberhausen. With an Eastern European accent, she explained to the senior citizen that she wanted to deliver flowers to a friend. She told the senior citizen the name of the alleged sender, which she actually knew from church circles.

The trickster now engages the elderly woman in a conversation, during which she also looks around the entire apartment. She conspicuously praised the furnishings and also touched cupboards and objects.

When the old lady asked her friend's full name, the stranger became nervous, reacted very rudely and left the apartment.

When the woman from Oberhausen contacted the alleged flower sender by phone, she discovered that she had become the victim of a trick thief who had stolen various valuables from her.

The trickster was around 45 years old and was wearing beige outerwear. She spoke with an Eastern European accent.
