Affected users have been informed about this via email for several days. “Use your account to avoid an inactivity fee,” is the message to users who haven’t used their account in a while, reports t3n .

Fees after 12 months of inactivity

These fees apply to users who have not sent money or logged in for 12 months.
The fee should depend on whether the affected users still have any remaining credit on their PayPal account and how high it is. However, the service deducts a maximum of 10 euros from the said credit. Anyone who has a zero balance on their PayPal account is not affected by this “inactivity fee”.

In some countries only relevant for business accounts

In Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Poland and Hungary, only business accounts will be affected in 2022.
If you use a private account, you have nothing to worry about.

Everyone else is advised to at least log back into their account or make purchases, send money, donate or withdraw money from the service as soon as possible. Anyone who does this by December 13, 2022 can still avoid collecting the PayPal inactivity fee.
