Which IDs are accepted on Facebook?

You have 3 different options to confirm your identity.

When you submit documents to us, please redact any personal information that we do not need to confirm your identity (e.g. credit card number, social security number ). We encrypt connections between people and Facebook by default. This also applies to ID cards that you send to us. Once the verification is complete, we will delete your ID data.

Option 1: Official ID

Option 2: Two non-official options

  • Two different types of ID from option 2, each showing your authentic name.
  • An additional ID that includes a date of birth or photo that matches the information in your Facebook profile. This ID can be from either Option 1 or 2, and the name on it does not have to match the other two IDs submitted. Your name or other information from your ID will not be added to your account.
