A tip for cleaning a pan can be fatal if you don't read the entire text.

Many users don't necessarily have the longest attention span, to put it mildly. Texts are also often only half-read - which in the case of a clean pan can even be fatal, as the given "recipe" for a cleaning agent is anything but harmless - toxic chlorine gas is produced!

This “recipe” is currently being distributed again:

The dangerous recipe for a cleaning product
The dangerous recipe for a cleaning product

The “recipe” is shared both as text and as a sharepic, which at first glance really looks like a tip for cleaning a pan: Two pictures are shown, a dirty one on the left, a clean one on the right, with a mixture above you should soak the pan: Cola, white wine vinegar, boiling water, baking soda, Klorix, pepper.

But what is important is the joke at the end of the text: “ The next morning it still looked the same as before and I bought the new one (on the right) ”.

It's just a joke! What could be dangerous about that?

It's dangerous because many users simply don't read such "life hacks" to the end or think that maybe it will work to clean a pan with them - and then maybe they still lack a little knowledge of chemistry, because:

Mixing Klorix (chlorine) and vinegar produces toxic chlorine gas!

Unfortunately, it often happens that when cleaning, different products are simply thrown together and then react chemically with each other. For example, in June 2021 , a woman in Hesse had to be hospitalized because she mixed chlorine cleaner and vinegar while cleaning the bathroom and inhaled the corrosive gas.

Conclusion

That's why: Never mix cleaning products together - and read such supposedly funny "life hacks" until the end!
