Telephone spam: Information about people called is available

Fraudsters were annoying on the phone several times a day with supposed lottery winnings or paid cancellations ( +447547393284 ). Of course, the crooks in Germany didn't let the calm of the holidays stop them and tried to tempt those affected with the prospect of big money ( 015258438175 ).

What is worrying is that the con artists seem to be collecting more and more information about the people they are calling in advance. In one case this went as far as an annual pass from the local swimming pool ( 01632392810).

For the last month of the year, the experts at Clever Dialer , the spam protection app, have once again compiled the top 10 most annoying phone numbers along with their users' comments.

The spam phone numbers in December and the comments of those affected:

  • +447547393284 Mobile communications from the UK (cost trap):
“A total of 17 calls in the period from December 15th, 2023 to December 27th, 2023, some with four attempts per day. Threatening with a paid lottery subscription that you supposedly have and you can only protect yourself if you cancel now for a fee. However, to do this you need personal information and bank details. Become rude when you tell them that you don't have a subscription and that they don't get any data. I blocked the number and filed a complaint with the Federal Network Agency.”
  • +447745823601 Mobile communications from the UK (cost trap):
“Very bad German. I want to cancel my competition subscription, which I don't have! Just annoying!!! I whistled into the receiver and blocked the number. Hopefully she won’t call again!”
  • 015258438175 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“You get talked into terribly. You have won two vouchers worth €400, but you have to pay protection letters worth €39.90 over a few months. The gentlemen cannot be turned away either. I just hung up. I’ve been harassed by them three times today.”
  • 069957996610 Landline from Frankfurt am Main (cost trap):
“I generally don't answer such numbers or I don't say anything myself. They won't get bored because such numbers are off the tape. Only when someone gets in touch will you be redirected and then they will tell you nothing.”
  • 015219632700 Mobile phone from Germany (Dubious):
“Automatic voice that claims that you pay too much to your health insurance company. I wonder where they got my number from. Makes me aggressive again… Absolute block recommendation.”
  • 015258439631 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“Caller wants to entice her with the obligatory instant win of vouchers worth €400 and of course you will be in the final selection for the main prize. Apparently you entered a competition for shopping vouchers. If you try to end the call and turn down the win, you will be harassed and rudely reprimanded.”
  • 01632392810 mobile phone from Germany (Dubious):
“He knew my last name and supposedly wanted to respond to my interest in photovoltaic systems. When I refused to say that I had never stated this, they said that I had an annual pass to the swimming pool where I live and that I had clicked on the advertisement. I would have agreed to the use of my data. When I asked him repeatedly to stop harassing me and not to use my number, he became rude.”
  • 015215173526 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“I should cancel my competition subscription, otherwise I would have to pay an annual fee of €1,450 in January. They then wanted to reconcile a bank account… I hung up!”
  • +447708379776 Mobile communications from the UK (cost trap):
“The person making the call asked for account details, supposedly for comparison purposes, even though the details were supposed to be in the form of an asterisk. I asked myself what they wanted to compare and, above all, they became very unfriendly and didn't let you speak. My mother did the right thing and refused to give the caller her details. I can only advise everyone to block this number. Just because the number is calling from Great Britain. How long, I wonder, can they keep cheating?”
  • 01577673274055 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“This number has tried to reach me several times in the last few days. For a long time now, I have been muting all callers on my cell phone who are not in my contacts. It's wonderfully quiet, so just block the numbers afterwards. I can recommend it, but you have to make the compromise that even normal, non-fraudulent callers are muted.”
