On November 17, 2013 we reported that there are some Facebook pages that have up to 2,000,000 fans. Users who became “fans” of such sites had no idea how lucky they were because they never left a “like” or never agreed that they wanted to be a “fan” of these sites.
Initially we thought of the usual approach of internet fraudsters such as a Facebook APP , a browser extension , a Java script (as we know it from these ADD exchanges), likejacking (likejacking means, for example, being behind a video Play button actually hides a like button.) or a Trojan .
We've asked that Facebook users review activity log , apps , and browser extensions
We sat almost all night and checked all the results and analyzed this thing with 2 programmers.
We came to the following conclusion:
1) Behind these millions of “likes” there is NO APP , NO BROWSER EXTENSION , NO SCRIPT , NO LIKEJACKING and NO TROJAN !
2) Internet fraudsters are using a “BUG” here that Facebook “probably” doesn’t know about. (A bug is a program or software error)
What can you do as a Facebook user?
The magic word here is “ SELF CONTROL ”
This means that every user should check their “PAGE” to see if they are a FAN somewhere, even though they have never agreed to this. There's no point in looking at the activity log because these pages don't appear there!
