We are currently hearing and reading again and again that dubious companies are exploiting the current “vaccination process” to take money out of other people’s pockets.

The Wesel police warn of fraud with “corona vaccines”. This can happen on the phone, at the front door or even online. So here is some information that will clarify things:

Vaccines are currently not available for sale on the open market.

The vaccination structures currently set up in North Rhine-Westphalia consist exclusively of vaccination centers, mobile teams for care in old people's homes and residential homes and independent vaccinations of hospital staff.

In some cases (not yet in the Wesel district), fraudsters offered to buy a “corona vaccine” to unsuspecting people over the phone. It cannot be ruled out that people will try to get into private apartments under this pretext.

As a reminder, vaccines are currently not being distributed on the open market, so NO ONE can sell this vaccine to you.

But how do I react if someone rings the doorbell or the telephone rings?

  • If you attempt to initiate business over the telephone (vaccine sales), under no circumstances should you engage in a conversation, instead hang up immediately.
  • Don't let strangers into your home. If necessary, order unknown people again at a later date when someone you trust is present.
  • Defend yourself vigorously against intrusive visitors: speak to them loudly or call for help.
  • In any case, call the police on the free emergency number 110.
