As the police only now became aware, a 5-year-old boy was attacked by a dog on Carlo-Mierendorff-Straße in Koblenz-Pfaffendorf on March 23, 2016.

Lahnstein (ots) - The 5-year-old was on the way home with his 9-year-old sister this Wednesday when a man with a dog came towards them on Carlo-Mierendorff Street around 12:20 p.m.

The off-leash dog ran towards the two children, barking.

The man called the dog back several times. But he didn't obey and bit the boy's calf, making him scream in pain. The dog owner then picked up his dog, scolded him and just kept walking.

As he left, he said to the two children that it was just a scratch.

The 5-year-old had to seek medical treatment. The police are now looking for a man around 60 years old with a three-day beard, around 180 cm tall and short white hair.

His dog is a small dog, approximately 30 cm tall, similar to a “Cairn Terrier”, an English dog breed.

The Lahnstein police will receive information about the dog or its owner on Tel.: 02621/9130.
