And again the claim is circulating that there is a Facebook function that allows you to display profile visitors - stay away! It is a trap.

Facebook users are repeatedly tagged for a post that is supposed to lead to a so-called profile viewer. In reality, this link only leads to one thing - a trap!

These are similar posts like this one:

There is no Profile Viewer on Facebook

Show profile visitors – is that possible?

The fact check

The fairy tale of the profile viewer has been around for a long time. Fraudsters repeatedly try to attract users with a status post on Facebook who are curious about who might have visited their profile... but they don't exist. It never has and it never will - because it's simply not technically possible.

Sites that promise something like this are simply lying. At best, users who interacted with your profile the most will be shown, but often it's not even that.

So, cyber criminals want you to believe that this tool exists. However, anyone who follows the post - where the user is usually tagged - will fall into a trap!

So what can happen instead of the Profile Viewer?

1. The login trap

Anyone who clicks on the link and has good [sponsor]online protection[/sponsor] will be warned of potential data loss. Without it, in most cases you end up with a fake Facebook login page !

If you log in to such a fake site, the criminals will receive your login details and thus full access to your account and, for example, write further postings under your name via the profile viewer and tag your friends.

Tip: If you are not sure whether you are on the real login page, you can try using random letters first. For example: [email protected] and as password detfgdrtbrx. If you can still “log in”, you know it’s a phishing site!

Those affected should change their password immediately if this is still possible!

2. Competition data collector trap

After entering your login details, you won't see who has visited your profile, but will end up in a dubious competition.

But the cards are stacked in this competition too: you can hardly hope to win; if you give up your data, you can look forward to a lot of spam by email, post and telephone.

3. The Facebook app trap

Fortunately, Facebook is increasingly putting a stop to this method, but you can't be completely safe from it:

In order to see your profile visitors, you should install a specific app within Facebook , which you should give free access to your own profile. This app can then randomly post things on Facebook under your name!

In fact, you often even get a list of the alleged profile visitors, but this is actually just a list of the friends who, for example, have liked or commented on your posts the most, not the real profile visitors!

4. The Bitcoin Trap

Another variant is the apparently real contributions from the media, which you then see. Celebrity XYZ has discovered or developed a sensational new method to make a lot of money in a short time and now wants to make this method available to all users...

However, these are very risky investments that require real knowledge. You can really lose money here!

Conclusion

To make it clear again: There is no way to see the visitors to your own profile! However, this hope is repeatedly used by criminals to let users fall into various traps with an alleged “profile viewer”.
