Görlitz – Once again, the food control and veterinary office of the Görlitz district has ordered quarantine for a puppy that the federal police found during their checks on the motorway near Ludwigsdorf.

In midsummer temperatures, the animal was in a cardboard box that the driver had left under the row of seats in his pickup truck. The 37-year-old explained that he was transporting the dog to Essen on behalf of a friend.

Because the transport conditions in particular did not comply with the regulations, the responsible official veterinarian was informed. Its review revealed that in this specific case it was to be assumed that a puppy was brought together for commercial purposes. In addition, a valid rabies vaccination and the necessary veterinary certificate were missing. b

Before the Polish citizen continued traveling without his four-legged friend, a complaint was filed against him on suspicion of violating the Animal Welfare Act.
