Albstadt-Ebingen - A 48-year-old pickpocket was quite cheeky when she pulled the wallet out of a discounter's customer's pocket in the LIDL parking lot on Monday evening.

The victim was talking to an acquaintance when the thief suddenly approached her. The drunk 48-year-old acted as if they knew each other, hugged the astonished woman and unnoticed pulled her wallet out of her trouser pocket during the hug. After the unwanted hugger had put her “unknown acquaintance” at a distance again, she went to her car and discovered that her wallet was missing.

She immediately rushed back to the suspected perpetrator and saw that her wallet was in her jacket pocket. After she got her property back, she made it clear to the thief that the police would be involved. The woman who was caught then physically attacked her victim and insulted her in a nasty way. She then left, but was followed by witnesses and picked up a little later by a police patrol that had been notified in the meantime on Theodor-Groz-Strasse. The 48-year-old now faces charges of theft, bodily harm and insults.
