“A cheeseburger, fries and a small Coke… and please no leftover oil this time.” Sounds weird? Not if you believe the “network women”, because they claim that at McDonalds you will soon only be served by robots. “I, Robot” or loose screw? We pull out the toolbox...

“Criticism over working conditions at McDonalds?
Solution found – do you know McRobots?”

Sapperlot! So no more friendly, smiling waitresses handing you fast food with a beaming smile? Threatening thousands of unemployed people? We continue reading:

“A new attraction is intended to attract computer geeks to the branches in the USA. Ronald has had his day - the robots are coming. McDonald's plans to use around 25,000 robots this year. This was announced months ago, but now things are getting serious and the first branch in Phoenix, Arizona will be opening on July 4th.”

Domo arigato, Mr. Robot!

SPONSORED AD

Okay, we invented the thing about the constantly smiling employees. The working conditions there are tough and the salary isn't exactly royal. Apart from that, this would be a grateful alternative for customers, as robots work quite quickly and correctly, and organized strikes and sick calls would also be rare. However, this is anything but good for the (still) human employees, and according to the “ Netzfrauen ” the first protests are already taking place in the USA.

Let's tighten the screws!

The report from the “Netzfrauen” is not that new, as the “ News Examiner ” website already reported in May 2015 about the burgers that might be contaminated with gear oil that we will face in the future. But we think it's a shame that the head of the pretty Asian woman had to give way to that of the robot QRIO from Sony for the preview image.

But we're not so strict, after all the picture is only supposed to be symbolic. But things get a little rustier when we look at the content of the article.

Names? What are names!

According to the "Netzfrauen" article, a McDonald's spokesman named "Paul Horner" confirmed this report to CNN because McDonald's minimum wage is too high.
Of course there is no link to that confirmation, so we will only briefly talk about Paul: “Paul Horner” is a running joke on the “News Examiner” website. Whenever something happens somewhere, Paul is there. He performed the first head transplant, is the real graffiti artist “Banksy” and was arrested at the age of 15 for masturbating and thus raping himself.

You may already notice what this is all about:
The “News Examiner” is one of the many English-language sites that like to mix real news with fake news , and its main author “Paul Horner” likes to immortalize himself in those articles, as he has already done “ Snopes ” reported in an overview of the most famous fake news sites.

Conclusion:

It is these moments in which we feel a little sorry for the “network women”. No, not actually. They like to bash against big corporations and unhealthy food, and perhaps they wanted to make a big splash with this news at the weekend. But it didn't work. Numerous comments under her article have already pointed out that it is a hoax, we are curious to see whether there will be a responsive response.

It's hard to distinguish real news from fake news these days. You need an eye for it, especially if you have a lot of fans and a certain responsibility towards readers. You want to be well informed and truthful. That doesn't always work, as you can see here.

In any case, we will continue to put up with human waiters at McDonalds, because this report from the “Netzfrauen” is a complete hoax . But it doesn't matter. We also find it more pleasant to be served by people, even if it's just a quick flirt. That also puts a smile on your face.
