Currently, following phishing attacks, fraudulent contact is being made using the WhatsApp messenger service. The fraudsters use a WhatsApp company account and use the Sparkasse logo as their profile picture.

The target of the scammers

The aim of the fraudsters is to take you to a phishing page again or, for example, to obtain TAN approval for a transfer that you did not submit or something similar.

In contrast to real Sparkasse WhatsApp accounts, the fraudsters use a mobile phone number as the sender. Therefore, when communicating with your savings bank via WhatsApp, always check the account phone number. This should be similar to your savings bank's regular telephone number and can be found on your savings bank's website.

CAUTION: Please never share a TAN with another person or release an order in the pushTAN app that you have not submitted yourself. Otherwise, fraud may occur. The Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe's computer emergency team warns urgently about the fraud described. If you are contacted by the fraudsters via WhatsApp or have already passed on TANs to people or released them in the pushTAN app, please contact us immediately about blocking your online banking access or recalling the transaction Savings Bank.
