On Friday evening, a young couple from Gronau (17 and 15 years old) were suddenly attacked by two perpetrators on Neustrasse around 9 p.m. The motive for the crime is not yet known.
According to the current investigation, the perpetrators approached from behind and suddenly attacked the couple. One of the perpetrators struck with a helmet, the other with his fists.
The 17-year-old and the 15-year-old suffered minor injuries, and the 15-year-old's cell phone fell to the ground and was damaged by the hit with the helmet.
The perpetrators drove away in the direction of Kurt-Schumacher-Platz. One of the perpetrators was driving a white “Aerox” motor scooter and the second was driving a men’s bike.
The victims describe the perpetrators as follows:
The scooter driver is around 19 years old, around 175 cm tall, slim and blonde. He was wearing a black jacket and had what was believed to be a fresh injury below his nose.
The second perpetrator is around 20 years old, around 180 cm tall, stronger than his accomplice, has a “big face”, brown hair and a light beard. He had a wound in the middle of his forehead.
The helmet used in the crime was left at the scene and was confiscated. A photo is attached to this police report. The helmet from the “B-square Motorsports” brand comes in silver, black and light blue and has a painted blue zigzag pattern. The visor is missing.
Anyone who can provide information about the crime, the perpetrators or the owner of the helmet is asked to contact the police in Gronau (02562-9260). Since the perpetrators probably had a physical altercation before the crime described based on their injuries, witnesses are also being sought.
