Jena - Investigators from the Jena Criminal Police Inspectorate in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania recently caught two intensive criminals wanted for numerous fraud offenses.

Extensive investigations led to the trail of a 40-year-old Weimar man in mid-September. There were two arrest warrants against the wanted man from the Erfurt public prosecutor's office and the Jena district court for a prison sentence of 1 year and 6 months as well as an ordered preventive detention for numerous fraud offenses in the Jena/Weimar area. In order to avoid arrest, he evacuated the apartment they shared in Weimar and went into hiding with his 3 children and his partner. After six weeks of intensive investigations, investigators were able to narrow down the whereabouts of the hidden fraudster to the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
A search has also been going on for some time for a 45-year-old from Apolda, whose traces were lost in the north-east of the republic. There were three international arrest warrants and several residence investigations against him. This man had previously made a living through various frauds and property crimes on the Internet. His sphere of influence primarily included Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The 45-year-old did not make a bad living from the criminal acts. After 4 weeks of preliminary investigations, the wanted man was located in the area of the island of Usedom together with Thuringian and Saxony-Anhalt investigators as well as officers from the Halle operational search unit.

The investigation into the area of the suspected whereabouts quickly led to the location of the wanted men. The Jena investigators were able to arrest the 40-year-old from Weimar in the harbor area of his home on the day of arrival after a short observation.
The next day the handcuffs clicked on the man from Apolda. Up to this point there were arrest warrants against the man with a total prison sentence of 3 ½ years. Further investigations into the 45-year-old's ongoing actions are being conducted by the police in Naumburg.
