Mainz Monday evening, around 5 p.m., a 43-year-old man injured a federal police officer in the arm.

A train attendant initially reported a woman who was traveling on the Intercity from Koblenz to Mainz without a ticket. Federal police officers received the womanly dressed person on the train at Mainz main station. Since she suddenly fled, the officers detained her. The fare evader clawed into the arm of a federal police officer with her nails and injured him. She also kicked and punched the officers.
Due to the aggressive behavior and refusal to provide information, the federal police took the person to the station and determined their identity using a fingerprint. The officers' suspicion that it was a man was confirmed. He also urinated in the area and spit on the ground.

A breath alcohol test showed a level of 1.13 per mille. The injured officer left his duty to seek treatment at the hospital. The public order office took the fare evader to a psychiatric clinic. He is now facing criminal proceedings for fare evasion, bodily harm and resisting law enforcement officers, as well as a misdemeanor charge of defilement.
