Essen – On Saturday, June 10th around 11 p.m., a 72-year-old senior citizen was on his way home from a friend.
Between approximately 11:45 p.m. and midnight, he encountered a group of young men in the Heibauerweg area who harassed him with the words: “What are you looking at, old man?” After a short argument, one of the men suddenly punched the Essene in the face. Witnesses (18/46) found the injured senior and called the emergency services. The emergency services delivered the man to a hospital in Essen with serious facial and hand injuries.
The police are now looking for witnesses who noticed a suspicious group of people in the Josef-Hoeren-Straße / Heibauerweg / Stauderstraße area between 11:40 p.m. and midnight on Saturday. The police will receive tips on 0201/829-0.
