The Bergkamen police confirmed in a press release reporting sexual harassment last Saturday at the spring fair in Bergkamen. Two of the group of around 20 people have been temporarily arrested and investigations are continuing.

Bergkamen (ots) - Yesterday evening, April 9th, 2016, the police were called to the spring fair on Ebertstrasse around 11:16 p.m. A woman was sexually harassed there. There was a group of around 20 people on site. The situation threatens to escalate.
According to witnesses, several Arab-looking men apparently deliberately separated a 30-year-old woman from Bergkamen from the people accompanying her in order to then grope her above her clothing. When the husband realized this and rushed to his wife, the men twisted his arm and pushed him into a bush. The people involved in the crime then fled.
As part of the search, two suspects were caught and temporarily arrested. According to the current state of the investigation, there is a 28-year-old immigrant from Algeria and a 22-year-old of uncertain nationality, presumably of Moroccan origin.
The 30-year-old remained physically uninjured and suffered from shock; her husband was slightly injured. Police investigations are continuing.
