Violation of animal protection law - Hattersheim am Main, Hattersheim Zoo, on the night of August 7th, 2016 to September 8th, 2016

On Thursday night, unknown perpetrators entered the Hattersheim Zoo. In the enclosure there they seized a sheep and slaughtered it. After the slaughter, they only left the entrails, the fur and the head in the enclosure.

After slaughtering the sheep, they also allegedly tried to harm a donkey. At least that's what a bleeding head wound suggests. Due to the professional execution, it is ruled out that the injuries were caused by other animals. The criminal police have started investigations into this matter. According to Hessenschau, there was a status post on the zoo's Facebook page that triggered a real shitstorm!

The animal was “brutally killed, professionally skinned and dismembered,” as the operating association announced on its Facebook page . The perpetrators took the dead animal with them and left behind the unusable parts such as the head, fur and innards. “He wasn’t a hobby butcher,” said Klaus Dieter Simon, chairman of the Hattersheim Zoo Association, on Friday to hessenschau.de.

The club then took his post down because “that was a bit harsh,” as Simon said. The association has existed for three years to run the small animal park with a petting zoo character, which was previously supported by the city of Hattersheim and founded around 40 years ago. His Facebook page has just 546 likes. In such a less exposed location you are not prepared for a shitstorm.
