The police started the investigation. The breakthrough came with the publication of a phantom photo of the perpetrator, which was created based on the girl's very good personal description. Numerous tips were received from the public. This also included a specific reference to a 47-year-old man from Stromberg. The police first checked the details from the seven-year-old's statement regarding the vehicle and the man and found the corresponding similarities.
At the request of the Bad Kreuznach public prosecutor's office, the Bad Kreuznach district court issued an arrest warrant, which was executed this morning. In the afternoon, the 47-year-old was brought before the judge at the Bad Kreuznach district court and then taken to a correctional facility. The 47-year-old had already been convicted of similar offenses in the past and had served a prison sentence.
The police are still checking whether there are other similar cases in which the 47-year-old could also be considered a perpetrator.
