Anyone who publishes status reports with contradictions will have no effect.

Facebook users believe they are safe when they write certain status messages in which they distance themselves from terms and conditions or contracts. But these reports are useless.

One of these status reports throws around legal ignorance. Nevertheless, many users publish this text. The text is quite easy to identify and begins with the words “ I too will play it safe and hereby declare the following:”. Other keywords in the posting are “ Article l. 111, 112 and 113 ", as well as "UCC 1-308 1-308 1-103 and the Statute of Rome"

Why is this message useless?

The articles and statutes do not exist in this context. A look at the criminal codes of various countries is enough. The designation Articles I. 111, 112 and 113 cannot be found in the German Criminal Code; here they are referred to as paragraphs. However, the corresponding paragraphs in the German StGB have no intersection with copyright law ( compare ).

The same applies in Austria, because there are no references to copyright law here either ( compare ). Anyone who searches for copyright offenses behind $111, 112 or 113 in Switzerland will be confronted with murder and manslaughter ( compare ).

Remember!

Do not contradict any laws, terms and conditions or contracts by posting a status update or sharing a picture. These are useless.
