Scammers claim to be the Federal Employment Agency and recommend a fake DM product tester website as a job.

That's doubly bad and you wonder why she can be anything. A fake letter lures fraudsters into a trap.

First of all, they pretend to be the Federal Employment Agency. The logo and corporate design of the Federal Employment Agency are being misused. Visually, the emails appear real. In these emails we will find a job. At least that's what siw Mail claims.

Your employment agency – Federal Ministry of Labor

However, this cover letter is a big scam because it does not come from the Federal Employment Agency. People are being maliciously misled here and the name and logo of the Federal Agency are being misused.

Bad trick!

But that's not all: This fake letter redirects to a website that claims to be the drugstore chain dm. The logo and name are also used without permission on this website. We warn: This is not the dm website!

Nasty fake

We also asked dm to confirm that this is not the chain's website. dm gave us a clear answer:

The competition page you mentioned has no connection to dm-drogerie markt.

All dm competitions can be found without exception on our official Facebook page, Instagram page or at https://www.dm.de/neu/gewinnspiele/.

You can find our product tester page here:
https://produkttester.dm.de/

It can be assumed that this is a fraudulent competition, possibly with malware. We therefore ask that you do not take part in this campaign under any circumstances. We are already taking legal action against the operators of such sites as far as we can.

Both DM and we give the following advice:

There are following ways to check the lottery sites/offers to see if they really come from dm:

  • A quick look at the URL in the browser is often enough: Is the leading domain really dm.de? Constructs such as https://gewinnspiel.dm.tollepreise.de are not included and are not from dm, even if dm is included in the URL. Fake domains like www.droglemarkt.net (with an l instead of an i) are also created to deceive customers. On the other hand, https://gewinnspiel.dm.de is actually from dm, here dm is the main domain before the “.de”.
  • Check the contacts/owners of the page.
  • Check the site's imprint. If the imprint is missing, this is under no circumstances a page of dm drogerie-markt GmbH+Co. KG.
  • Check the contact options on the site - on dm's own pages you will always find the number of our service center 0800 / 3658633 (free of charge).
  • Check the contest terms and conditions. If you have any questions about the use of your data, please contact the competition organizer directly. If you continue to be harassed and receive calls from strangers and the organizer does not stop them, you can also report this to the police. The police can provide further support and also show ways to counteract this.
