No fake! In Vienna, several people have received a cease and desist notice in recent weeks.
This cease and desist request is associated with a claim for damages of €290 and represents an offer with which you can avert a claim for interference with property as well as a claim for damages. This letter is not a fake and there is actually a serious concern behind it.
Incidentally, the letters are not isolated cases; rather, a number of voices from recipients of this letter have emerged who are now venting their anger in the form of comments, ratings and reviews.
What happened?
Due to a rather unfavorable location in this case, turning drivers repeatedly use the gas station area of the gas station in Vienna to avoid a left-turn traffic light and to avoid the entire intersection through a residential area. The residents of the adjacent streets, which lead through purely residential areas, are therefore exposed to significantly heavier and aggressive traffic, especially during rush hours.
In order to stop this unauthorized passage, the cease and desist notice was probably created as a measure. There is a notice board on the gas station premises that draws attention to a no-passage policy (see here ).
Those affected are angry, residents are relieved
The problem, however, is that customers are also affected by this measure. According to statements from several letter recipients, they initially headed for the washing areas, but when they drove into the property they saw that they were occupied and that waiting times were to be expected, they stopped the washing process and left the area directly.
To what extent these statements are true cannot of course be determined in retrospect, unless the recordings show occupied washing areas. Otherwise the accusation could collide with the presumption of innocence. Nevertheless: The gas station has now become Vienna's best-known gas station, as those affected also share their experiences by name.
