The claim
Sharepics are currently circulating with Thomas Müller, who is quoted with somewhat irritating statements; apparently the sharepics come from Sky Sport.
Our conclusion
The Sharepics are fakes that are more or less easily recognizable at several points. The quotes are fictitious.
We came across at least two sharepics that contain bizarre quotes that supposedly come from Thomas Müller, one of which is really unbelievable, but the other at least made us doubt whether it might not be real, since the footballer is known for his humor (besides football of course).
However, in both cases they are fakes.
The Sharepics
At first glance, the two Sharepics we know look real, but the details reveal that they are fake.
The alleged quotes on the sharepics are:
- “I consciously chose a vegan diet because I don’t want to eat anything I’ve been intimate with before.”
- “And then I fucked the horse like that from behind.”
Sky Sport logo , there is no hidden hint that it is satire
The evidence of a fake
As already mentioned before: The quotes sound bizarre in themselves, but on the other hand it could really be that Thomas Müller's humor went overboard in some interview. This is definitely what several users who sent us inquiries about Sharepics thought.
We then looked at all of Sky Sport's social media channels to see whether the sharepics were posted anywhere. No success, they were nowhere to be found. But perhaps they have been deleted in the meantime or are already so old that we can no longer find them? So let's pursue other points.
- Note 1: The quotes are nowhere to be found
Finding the source of a quote on a sharepic is always the first step. The sharepics imply that Müller may have said the sentences in interviews with the Sky Sport channel, but because of their bizarre nature, some site should have already reported on them.
But none of it: Not a single page has put the quotes in written form on digital paper, which is actually to be expected with such statements.
- Note 2: The design of the Sharepics
We looked at the design of the sharepics and compared it with newer and older Sky Sport sharepics with quotes.
Although the character sets used differ, all Sharepics have two things in common:
- Almost every sharepic contains characteristic quotation marks, either next to each other or in some cases at the beginning and end of a quote, the same character set is always used
- The station's logo is sometimes black and white, sometimes in color, but is always somewhere at the edge of the sharepic, never directly after a quote
These two points also indicate that they are fakes.
The sharepics about Thomas Müller are not from Sky Sport
For the sake of completeness, we also presented the sharepics to the broadcaster and received a clear answer:
“Beyond the content of the quotes, both of the widely used graphics are obvious forgeries that differ significantly from our quote boards in terms of features such as font, logo and the basic form of presentation. Whenever we become aware of such fakes, we endeavor to delete them immediately.”

Conclusion
The Sharepics are fakes that are more or less easily recognizable at several points. The quotes are fictitious and are obviously intended to ridicule vegan diet as well as a PETA criticism of him regarding his horse
Also interesting: Once again, a slogan by Claudia Roth (Bündnis90/Greens) is causing a stir on Facebook!
Refugees instead of pets? – No, Claudia Roth didn’t say that
