Berlin-Lübars: The Schenk family finds their pedigree cat dismembered in a neighbor's garden at Christmas. An animal torturer strikes again in Lübars.

As reported on 'RBB Fernsehen' and the 'Berliner Zeitung', a cat murderer killed a Turkish Angora tom in Lübars, chopped off its head and tail and made it disappear.

Two years ago, an animal hater spread poison bait in Lübars, which also killed the Schenks' cat at the time.

The dead animal is now being autopsied at the vet in order to find out as much information as possible about the perpetrator.

Axel Schenk (59), the animal's owner, reported the matter to the police for violating the Animal Protection Act and distributed posters in the town to warn others.

“With the posters we get calls from all over Lübars, dogs beaten, cats mistreated. Someone even cut off the hind legs of a hedgehog,”

said the father of the family to the 'Berliner Zeitung'.

The beloved cat's body is buried in the Schenks' garden. However, the head and tail have not been found to date.

A report about the case of the cat murderer can be viewed in the ARD media library of 'RBB Fernsehen' until February 2nd, 2017:
