A woman in North Rhine-Westphalia is only allowed to buy one pack of toilet paper - in protest she sits on the checkout conveyor and later had to be taken away in handcuffs.

Many shelves in some supermarkets are chronically emptied - hygiene products such as toilet paper or disinfectants are sold out in many places and are still in short supply in some cases.

Even if the situation is currently improving again , a 54-year-old Reichshofer's level of “saturation” with toilet paper had probably not yet been reached.

As the Oberbergischer Kreis police announced in a press release , the 54-year-old wanted to buy several packages of toilet paper in a hypermarket on Stadionstrasse in Bergneustadt (NRW) on Wednesday (March 25, 2020).

But when she was told to only buy one package and put the rest aside, the woman sat on the checkout conveyor, thereby hindering further sales to other customers.

54-year-old carried to patrol car in handcuffs

The police who were called initially tried to calm the 54-year-old and issued a dismissal, which she did not follow. The officers then handcuffed her and transported her out of the store and to the police station. The 54-year-old fought against this vigorously. She screamed, fell to the ground, resisted the measure and finally had to be carried to the patrol car.

She then had the opportunity to calm down in a police cell before she was released home - without toilet paper. No purchase was made as a result of the riot.
