Further investigative findings…
As already reported, on the evening of December 24th, 2017, the police received a report about a fire that had started on Duracher Strasse in Kempten.
Based on the status of the investigation at the time and the initial findings obtained, it could be assumed that the dead animal found there was a dog.
Further investigations were then immediately initiated. The animal was seized. However, it could neither be identified nor assigned to a possible owner. To further clarify the incident, further investigations were carried out at the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety in Oberschlossheim on Thursday. It was determined that this was not a dog, as originally reported, but a fox. The result as to whether the animal was still alive at the time the fire started or had already died is still pending.
No information about the unknown person
There is still no information about the unknown person who is said to have set fire to the animal lying on the side of the road.
The Kempten police are therefore continuing to look for witnesses who made observations in the area of Duracher Strasse around 9 p.m. After being spoken to, the unknown man fled on a bicycle and was described as follows: He was dark-skinned, around 170 cm tall and around 25 years old.
He was wearing jeans, white shoes, a blue softshell jacket with a white line from shoulder to shoulder, and a black headband. He also had striking Rasta curls that were tied up. The bike used is a dark men's bike. The Kempten police station is investigating and accepting tips on 0831/9909-2141.
