The claim

Since Musk's vote to resign as CEO of Twitter, many users on Twitter have claimed to this day that Donald Trump Jr. will fill the position.

Our conclusion

The rumor arose on the day of the vote and was invented by a satirical site. Trump Jr. himself contradicted the claim, but it appears to be considered established fact by many Trump supporters.

The rumor that Donald Trump Jr. is the new CEO of Twitter now seems to have become so firmly anchored in certain circles that it is now treated as nothing more than established fact: on the short message platform, the claim is accepted without further doubt happy about it.

Great joy on Twitter

Because Trump Jr. will silence “left-wing critics”:

The origin of the claim

Now a rumor like this doesn't just arise out of nowhere, so someone must have claimed it beforehand. Unfortunately, not even Musk himself writes anything about his alleged successor on Twitter , and not a single news media reports about it. So where did the rumor come from?

___STEADY_PAYWALL___

However, there is one site that actually reported on December 19th, shortly after the end of the vote , that the son of the ex-president of the USA would take over the position of CEO - and since then it has been believed, also as Musk two Tage himself wrote on Twitter that there is still no successor who would be stupid enough to take the job .

A site called “The Smattering” (see HERE ) appears to have this exclusive info. Apparently they even immediately conducted an interview with Trump Jr., who said the following:

“Oh, this is going to be a blast. The left got collectively upset just because Elon wanted to create a level playing field for all political views. But now I’m going to dig into this bird app.”

Apparently he already has concrete ideas for his team. Conservative commentator Sebastian Gorka and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell are said to be in key positions, and none other than the re-banned Kanye West is set to lead the content moderation team:

“You want to bitch and whine about hate speech? I will show you hate speech!”

Musk, on the other hand, will remain the owner of Twitter, but wants to concentrate on his other companies:

“I just want to build electric cars and work on implanting microchips into people’s brains. I'll leave the social media thing to others. Have a lot of fun!"

You've probably already noticed: it's satire!

A quick look at the “ About ” page shows it very quickly: It is a satirical site:

“Subscribe to the newsletter and get access to the best satire of all time. No, seriously, the very best. Never miss an update.”

Even Trump Jr. himself contradicted the popular claim - but all his fans seem to have missed it and continue to happily claim that he is the new CEO.

Conclusion

It is really an interesting phenomenon that almost a week after Trump Jr. himself said that he will not be the new CEO and this was not announced on any news site or by Musk, even his own fans still believe in it and it spread further.
