And there are misleading Facebook pages again. They claim that you can get a TV for €1.95. But that's not true!

It used to be incorrectly packaged iPhones, now it's TV sets that Amazon would sell for €1.95. At least that's what various Facebook pages are currently claiming. They are pages with names like home appliances or New Year's sales of appliances.

They published posts with the message that Amazon would offer high-quality TV sets for a ridiculous price. Of course, this attracts a lot of people, because who wouldn't want to get a high-priced TV for just €1.95? But we have to warn, these Facebook pages are up to no good!

No, there is no TV for €1.95 here!

The trick with hijacked profiles

In order to convince users on Facebook, the respective Facebook pages use hijacked profiles with fake messages. The trick is as simple as it is obvious: A number of profiles claim in the comments that they have already gotten a TV set for €1.95.

It's really exciting to look at the comments under these postings. Here we see comments from mostly French profiles who post photos and comments thanking you via your TV. When we take a closer look at these profiles, we see that these are hijacked profiles. These profiles are misused to give various fake competitions and similar traps a serious appearance. So please don’t fall for these fake posts!

TV set for 1.95 EUR is a trap!

These Facebook pages provide a shopping link. Anyone who clicks on this shopping link will be taken to a website that is modeled on Amazon. On this website, visitors should provide their credit card details to order the TV. A very clear message: please don’t do that! This is not Amazon, just a recreated site. Anyone who types and sends the credit cards here is sending the data into the hands of unknown people.
