Bielefeld - On the night of Monday to Tuesday, unknown perpetrators created a life-threatening obstacle on Schröttinghauser Straße, near Beckendorfstraße, using stones, duct tape and a guide post, thereby causing a serious traffic accident.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at around 12:52 a.m., a Caddy driver was driving on Schröttinghauser Straße from the direction of Häger. Immediately behind the Beckendorfstrasse intersection, his vehicle suddenly crashed into a wall made of 24 paving stones, tearing up the entire front and destroying a front tire.
It was only through a lot of luck that the 32-year-old from Dörpen remained uninjured. Immediately afterwards, an emergency ambulance, which was on its way to a medical emergency with special privileges, almost drove into the barricade.
He was traveling in the opposite direction, which had also been made impassable with duct tape and a guide post at the level of the traffic island.
The perpetrators probably took the stones from a nearby construction site and used them to set up the barrier. Since this process must have taken some time, the police, who are investigating dangerous interference with road traffic, are hoping for information from residents or drivers who have previously driven past the spot.
