Two girls were approached by an unknown person on a tram on line 96 on Wednesday evening.

The children were heading towards the Viereckremise when an older gentleman with a walker got on at the Robert-Baberske-Straße stop. The stranger sat down next to the girls and tried to engage them in conversation. He is said to have also touched both children on the head.

They both then got up and went to another area of ​​the car before leaving the train a short time later and running home. The parents called the police.

They described the unknown man to the officers as a man around 75 years old. He is about 1.70 meters tall and thin, has short hair, very hairy hands and a long, dark beard.

On Thursday evening he was wearing a light brown or gray suit and black leather shoes.

He has a well-groomed appearance, walks upright and uses a black walker. He also spoke German with a slight accent and got off the train at the Schragen stop.

According to the girls, there were other passengers on the train who observed the situation.

A young woman of about 25 is also said to have been approached by the man. However, the woman ignored the stranger and put on headphones.

The criminal police are currently checking whether the unknown person is suspected of a crime and whether there are video surveillance recordings.
