At the moment, a lot of users are receiving emails from different lawyers. You would have to settle an outstanding claim with FACEBOOK - or with AMAZON or with EBAY. Apparently the current bank account is not covered and now the user should transfer an amount to a bank account.

The subject is: Automatic account debit could not be made (date)

So that the user can now receive further information or a contact telephone number, they should now open the invoice that was attached as a file attachment.

Danger! There is NO invoice in this file attachment, but there is a TROJAN!

DANGER!

These emails did not come from the lawyers mentioned. These letters came from Internet fraudsters who want to use this nasty scam to foist a TROJAN on users.

Brief analysis of the file attachments!

image

What is a TROJAN?

Trojans are standalone programs (.exe) that pretend to be something other than what they really are. In this case it should appear as if it is an invoice! In most cases these are added as file attachments.

When you run the file, it seems like nothing is happening. But that's not true. A program is installed in the background. The programs or internet fraudsters behind such programs now have access to your data or can also have complete control over your computer.

Once you have executed the file, you will change all passwords to social networks, online shops, etc.

IMPORTANT! Also inform your bank (OnlineBanking) and/or your credit card company.
